Crazy couple of weeks, Craft Update
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks but I have been a busy little craft monster (I’m not really a bee, I fit the monster category better), and have a few FO’s to report:
- I finished the baby hats for charity, 5 in all, all purple (well, duh), and will be shipping them out on Monday. I made them all different patterns to keep myself entertained, here’s one for proof (just in case you needed it
)

sorry, taken at night with my cell, not the best shot
- Monkey Moo is officially done, but has been receiving MAD love from Miss Maggie Moo, and is now need some mending. Here he is in his new pre-Maggie love splendor:
and Maggie caught in the act:
- My Minion stitch markers were a hit ,and I need to make a couple more sets for a swap, but may be putting those on a shelf for a while, and only bring them out for special requests.
- Updated the Cupcake Hat pattern to include adult sizing.
- Sent out the safety eye setter off to my swap partner as promised, she LOVED it!
- And, I spun and set my first finished handspun (the other first handspun has yet to be dyed, but I hope to do that within the next few weeks).
My husband is so amazed that I was able to make this yarn from the roving I received through a swap from Andrea (here’s a link to her blog), it’s so soft and I love the colors. Hubs is a huge fan of tie dye, so I’ll be making him a tie die version of the Bubby Bear, which I think will be a perfect way for me to celebrate my first finished handspun yarn.
HELP!!!
I also received this amazing yarn in a swap:
and I need help finding a pattern to make a short neck scarf/cowl. This is Voile de Mer yarn made of 70% silk, 30% seaweed. It is AMAZINGLY soft and I think would make a beautiful scarf/cowl, but I’m stumped for a pattern. There is 290 yards of light fingering weight yarn, help me find a pattern, please! What would you recommend??
Otherwise, I’m in the middle of working on my new stitch marker idea, but have some other non-crafty obligations in the next few days, so other than knitting the Bubby bear, I may be out of crafting commission for a short while…that doesn’t mean I won’t be stewing ideas away in my head, though!

Aw that monkey is adorable! I’m sure it will continue to be well-loved. I made a stuffed animal for my older son when he was a baby and he still has it now in 3rd grade.
I have you considered something like the “Tilting TARDIS Cowl”? It’s a Dr. Who reference (duh- LOL), but it’s a beautiful pattern, and a lot of people are doing it as a stole with buttons similar to the treatment on Wisp.
